Happy 'Quit MySpace' Day"
“MySpace has what I would consider to be the greatest untapped asset on the internet right now: EVERY FRICKIN’ BAND ON THE PLANET.”
We need an elsewhere to go and we need to ALL go there.
How about Bandcamp? Seems like most musicians use MySpace as a way to let people hear their music. The social aspect of it is pretty much entirely invalid these days and you can stop holding your breath if you think they’re going to implement a licensing or merchandising program.
I say abandon the plan to “quit Myspace in 2010” and just leave for greener pastures now. Get a Bandcamp account, get a Facebook fan page or (this is crazy talk I know) get a bonafied real website.
